With the slogan, CHANGE, Barack H. Obama is the official 44th President of the United States of America after the Inauguration Ceremony last January 20, 2009 at the National Mall, Washington D.C., 12:00pm (1:00am Philippine time).
Amidst the dropping temperature of 15ºC - 10ºC, millions of people from different races, cultures and beliefs had gathered at the superbly huge space of the National Mall to witness the historical event of the people who hoped but didn’t expect that a Black-American would be the 44th President of the United States of America.
Five thousand portable toilets and ten video walls were scattered around the Mall. People had occupied the 30km space of the mall, securities were tightened. The huge Inauguration Ceremony since Lyndon Johnson on 1965. People were eager to witness the historical event that’ll raise everyone, with high-hopes, to survive in the sinking world and treat everyone with complete fairness and respect.
After the Civil War, 1861-1865, Black-American had been separated from White colored Americans, unfairly treated and solely discriminated. Abraham Lincoln then made a Treaty for the Blacks to be treated fairly, and later amended the Constitution of Civil Rights for the Blacks. A race that was discriminated and deprived of their rights, now a race of the 44th President of the strongest, the most powerful and influential country of the world, the United States of America.
History has been made, it is now written. What is there then to become? Will this be the start of change that everybody is eager to have for the betterment of the world? Or another idle administration sitting in their seats, pocketing gold in their country? Everybody have high hopes that the newly-elected, the official President could ease the high-waves of global economic crises that can make countries sink to the deepest trench. His words are marked to people’s brains and believe that he can do it – his promise of change that “all are equal, all are free, all deserve the chance of full happiness.” Obama don’t lie, and he can’t lie because he said, “This is the end to pains, grievances and false promises.” Millions of people believe that his reign to power doesn’t only limit to the last ocean of the USA but would extend to the whole world and its countries. “America is a friend of each nation.”
The future of America is bright. The allies have cheered with them. By the time that everything is at peace with prosperity, people would care no more for themselves but for the people who still have miseries in their hearts and empty plates at meals.
